Be Constant

At nightfall I stood outside under the open sky and glance at the stars imaging the pattern they stand on without moving a single inch. I thought to myself, through the wind blew the clouds so hard to shift its positioning the stars remain still and constant. Though the heavy storms approaches and tear the land and turn things into ruin, the stars remain still and constant.

I said to myself, is this is what love should possibly be about? Though we have our ups and downs in life, we must always remain constant?

I take a look at the trees and see how the wind blew their leaves off their branches, yet the tree remains still without a single step to find new balance. I said to myself, though a tree branch is being cut off from the trunk the tree will still remain in its firm position. Unless the whole tree is hung down and up rooted to die, then that is the only time the tree is been moved.

So is love. If situations and circumstances turned against you, always remember that if you have love, nothing can destroy the relationship you have with your families, friends and love ones.

Forgiveness

Sometimes when problems arise, hatred blind folded our hearts and we said in our hearts that “I will never forgive you for what you have done”. However, if you are reading this blog and you know that you are in this situation, then this is a word for you. The bible tells us in Luke chapter 17 verse 3: - to forgive. This is the actual passage from the King James Version: -

Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

The Lord Jesus Christ clearly thought us that if our brothers or otherwise sisters sinned against us, we have to talk to them and tell them straight forward the offence they have done against us. Otherwise, we are going nowhere but allowing more problems to add up against ourselves.

That is why the scripture said in Proverbs chapter 27 verse 5: -

“Open rebuke is better than secret love.

However, it is your choice. But don’t wait till one passed away since you’ll regret. Those you have around you as family are there because they loved you dearly. But don’t let one wrong to ruin you and drive that love away from you since everyday is always a new day. Days are created by God so that we always have hope.

So let us use the opportunity wisely and not let the dark shadows of the past to blind us. One day we will never know, but death will be coming to visit us uninvited and then, only memories will remain and we’ll be gone forever.

Change

Love is the greatest gift of all. It is through God’s grace that we are still living and breathing to see the unfolding of another new year. New Year represents the new beginning of another new chapter from each and every one of us. So the question is have you decided what is your New Year resolution is?

If not, then I bet you should try. Choose the worst thing that you want to change in your life for a good course. I can assure you, that you won’t regret the end result.

To do something good to someone means doing good to yourself, because you will never know those people you help, will help you when they see you in trouble one day. So on a positive note, change is never easy, but it takes courage for one person to overcome the challenges that will bring about change.

One of the most inspirational quotes I like about change is from the U.S President Barack Obama, this is what he has to say about change: -

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”

WOW! That is awesome. You are the change that you’ve been waiting for. If you are reading this blog, this is a word of encouragement for you, if you want to change, then change. I will tell you this, that only you have the power to make that decision. So be the change that you wish to see in the world

Happy New Year 2013

New Year Resolution

New Year Resolution for 2013,

Whereas the time scratches and my days are shortens, I am still breathing and truly thankful for the air that I breathe, since he that has the power to life has given me grace to live for another year. Therefore, this is my New Year’s resolution, to change.

I wish you all a prosperous Happy New Year 2013.

Moving Forward

Christmas Eve is a great time to get together with families, friends and loved ones. It’s a good time to catch up with each other and share happiness, since almost throughout the year we are all being busy with our work and other important things that we need for our lives.

However the greatest thing about Christmas is its true meaning, when salvation is born into the world. As the scripture says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave is only begotten son, that whosoever believed in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

If we have to stop and think about the true reason we are giving gifts to our children, it is because we loved them. ‘LOVE’ is the greatest gift of all. When there is ‘love’ there is ‘peace’, and when there is ‘peace’ there is ‘hope’ and when there is ‘hope’, there is ‘forgiveness’ and when there is ‘forgiveness’, there is ‘happiness’.

If you are reading this blog and you know that you have a problem with your parents or your wife or your husband, or your children, this is what I want you to do, swallow your pride and go to your family and say sorry.

I can assure you that reconciliation will change your life today. Shouldering the burden of the past will not help you to become a better person, but will take you nowhere, that is why Apostle Paul in the Bible said “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13,14

The keyword I want to share with us here today is where Apostle Paul said: “But this is one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before”.

Simply Apostle Paul is telling us today to forget those things that we have done in the past and let us move forward, because there is nothing we can do to change the past. I like what the former President of South Africa Mr. Nelson Mandela would like to say about forgiveness and their past.

He said: “Forgiveness liberates the soul, and it removes fear, and that is why it is such a powerful weapon”. If I am correct, I am sure this is what he also said “What is rebate is rebate, the past is the past, and we look to the future now”.

My dear friend let us not allow the sun to go down on us before we can say sorry, but let us have the courage to say sorry and be reunited with our families, friends and loved ones.

GOD bless you and have a wonderful festive season.

Our Five Fingers Reminds us!

Parental factors: -

We human being are very grateful to have 5 fingers. Yes! I said 5 fingers, why?  Because it helped us too understand the philosophy of life. Ok, take a look at this question and if you’re a parent ask yourself why do you always want to buy the best gift for your children.

Have you any idea why?

Simply because you loved them and not because they always listen to you etc. if I can say it plainly, maybe if we are to compare the true factors about how much we loved our children against they listening to us, it would be love denying the fact of 70 – 90% chance for our children not listening to us every day.

However, we still loved them and still want the best for them.

Ok, let me take you back to the 5 fingers and its significant teaching in our lives and having said that, I will start from each fingers and their representation in our lives.

1.    Thumb             -           Gift for our children

2.    Pointer             -           Children always complaining

3.    Tallman           -           Our children’s ignorance

4.    Ringman         -           Our Love for our children

5.    Littleman         -           Our children

Ok, now that you know their significant role in the story, let me help you put it altogether, so you can see the clear picture of their representation and meaning in this story.

During Christmas and New Year, we always provide presents (gifts) for our children, but remember gift is not something that one deserve to have just because of his obedience or whatever. But in fact, it is something freely given to show appreciation. So did we the parents, we provide gift for our children freely, because we appreciate them as they are.

Most of our problem parents are from our children’s complaints. Sometimes with just simple things such as clothes, where we select clothes for our children and they just simply don’t want to wear it, because they like to wear something else. At the end of the day, the only easiest way out that problem is to compromise.

However, this is another problem, whenever we tell our children to do this and that we will find ourselves that often times nothing has been done, since our children in most cases ignored what we said and decides to go about their own business. At the end of the day we end up angry and frustrated.

We will call our children and start screaming at them, but because of love, it doesn’t matter how mad you are and how angry you think you are at that time, but once you see tears falling from your child’s eye, it will break your heart.

In other words, it will melt you, because the child is your whole world, and losing him/her is something that nothing in the entire universe can replace forever.

Our children will never understand that, until they grow older and then they will be in our shoes, and they will understand our situation.

Until then, let us not give up in doing ‘good’ to our children as they deserve our love.
